Occupy Oakland protestors burn an American flag found inside Oakland City Hall during an Occupy Oakland protest on the steps of City Hall Saturday night.
yeah because THATS the way to go to earn support from your community. I love the protests, i do, but I think there is something wrong about burning a flag. The American flag is like the innocent bystander, it stands for the morals our country had. Its a symbol for freedom and we should be carrying it by our side to show people we ARE americans and we DO care about our country. Burning it is just giving those who oppose the movement an excuse to say “See? SEE? They hate our country! Don’t support them!”
